I know what you’re thinking. Help! This is too much!
Well, too bad. I’m not only going to show you these adorable pictures of Kasi and Mtani, the cheetah and yellow lab who’ve spent the last year growing up together in Florida. I’m also going to direct you to a video of them playing together. Sorry.
Hedgehog in the Fog
A classic Russian animated short film from 1975. Based on a story by Sergei Kozlov, directed by Yuri Norstein.
This is such a sweet, thoughtful little video. Based on a Russian folktale, it’s the story of a hedgehog who gets lost on his way to see a friend. Next time you have 10 minutes to spare, check this out.
RED PANDA GOES CRAZY ON A PUMPKIN
Oh no!
This video of a red panda playing with a pumpkin is so out-of-control cute. It’s like someone taught this animal exactly how to be the most adorable thing, and it did that. And just when you think it’s cuted to its utmost, it outcutes itself!
These are currently my 2 favorite things. (Or 4, if you’re fooled by that first picture. Or even 5, if you’re fooled by both. In which case you need to get off the computer and go look at a dog in real life.) I’ve been keeping them on my desktop, looking at them everyday and laughing. I thought I’d share them so that you might do the same.
The 25 Most Awkward Cat Sleeping Positions

This is a very good list, with lots of worthy choices for number one most awkward cat position. For my money, though, #14 wins, hands down.
Preview for Puppy Bowl VIII
Oh my God, this is out of control! I had heard of the Puppy Bowl, but never saw just how damn cute it was. If this preview isn’t enough for you, check out Matilda the beagle puppy’s MVP performance from Puppy Bowl V!
Baby Seal Enters House, Sleeps On Couch
This really happened!
Polite Bear Waves Hello
Need to cheer yourself up in 7 seconds? This will do it.
Oh my gosh. This little newborn, which might best be described as a monkey/lamb/human, has the best face I’ve ever seen.
Welcome to the world, Nero!
From ZooBorns:
The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is pleased to announce the birth of a second male Coquerel’s Sifaka (CAHK-ker-rells she-FAHK) baby born on Saturday, November 12, 2011, almost nine months to the day that his older brother Otto was born. “We observed changes in Anastasia which made us suspect she might be pregnant, but we were not sure if it was just wishful thinking on our parts so soon after Otto’s birth,” stated Mike McClure, general curator. “We are very pleased to see that the baby is healthy, and to observe that the Sifaka family is bonding quite nicely in a quiet off exhibit area for now.”
